Poptimism and Choiceland: HOMI Fashion&Jewels Exhibition presents the future scenarios of fashion accessories

My advice to fashion jewellery designers and companies in the sector today is to invest in ethical and solidarity-based research, create “beautiful stories to wear”, and communicate these “stories” on social media in a personal and original way” - this was Sveva Camurati’s, jewel designer known simply as Sveva, comment, during the last webinar organized by HOMI Fashion&Jewels Exhibition that focused on 2022 trends - “The social world of a designer should be a source of continuous inspiration, in the little actions of everyday life, keeping a curious and sensitive eye to "wonder" helps nourish our work in constant discovery. Without curiosity and without this wonder, our work slowly becomes sterile and no longer conveys any beauty”.

In fact, future success is based on research and curiosity to develop a business, with a keen awareness of the social and anthropological changes taking place and affecting different generations in various ways.

Fashion is modern by nature, and accessories are an acute expression of  that zeitgeist (spirit of the times), ready to face new stylistic challenges "Overcoming the hurdle and not stopping at the first exclamation of "what a strange idea, this cannot be done"” – explains Maria Sole Ferragamo, Designer and founder of the SO-LE Studio - “With passion, perseverance and love everything can be done, or at least everything can be achieved, without giving up halfway through."

Poptimism  - The first, Have Fun, is based on the idea of play and fun, involving physical places and their icons (think of funfairs or the main characters of Disney stories). This is followed by Classic goes crazy, i.e. the classic and its distinctive elements re-interpreted in a crazy and pop key: a recognised tradition that is now literally going crazy. Zoom booms looks carefully at the smallest details, those individual elements that together create new codes, new languages: they are initials to decipher, they are new body parts to explore. Finally, More is more, an explosion of colours, shapes and decorative elements that reach high levels of extravagance.

Choiceland - Hack the '90s looks back, not too far away, to the 1990s, to the intervention of technology in human life: distortion, glitches and neon define this scenario made up of levels that interact with each other, creating new languages through a lens that deforms geometries or colours. Antithesis tells of the beauty of contrasts and diversity: full and empty, equal but different, black and white, concave and convex. Broadcast is the tool to give tangible form to thoughts, a way to express oneself and recount without filters: lettering and smiles to express oneself. Finally, Love is Love, which tells love stories, with a feeling of participation and sharing: here imperfections are accepted and celebrated with the use of colours, geometries, the meeting of different languages that create maps, textures that are compact, a whole, but at the same time free to express themselves.
