Scenario perspectives and business opportunities: a reflection with the webinar organized by HOMI Fashion&Jewels
Greece and Italy have always been very close and have excellent bilateral relations, fostered by an ancient and deep friendship cemented not only by geographical proximity, but also by a distinctly Mediterranean culture and identity that have always made the difference.
Not only that. As far as the economy is concerned, the two markets are also linked by an ancient and fruitful relationship that has meant that over time Italy has been the first market for Greek exports and the third for Greek imports, not forgetting that Italy has always stood out for its economic investments in Greece.
The reasons for the presence of Italy in Greece and vice versa, beyond those of territorial proximity, are to be found in the leading role and attractiveness that the products of both countries continue to have, even and especially at difficult times like the present.
However, the outlook is more than positive and this was the focus of the webinar organised by HOMI Fashion & Jewels, "Jewellery and Fashion Accessories: P/E Trend 2021 and Focus on the Mediterranean Area", devoted to deepening aspects for one of Italy's main commercial players in the fashion accessories and bijouterie segments.
The starting point for a rich reflection is indisputable: numbers in hand, if the Greek peninsula exports about 8 million Euros a year in jewellery and fashion accessories to our country, the figures indicate growth forecasts of +5% over the next 4 years. This positive and constant trend also applies in reverse, with the flow of Italian imports to Greece following the same pace, with an expected annual growth rate of around 5-6%.
After all, creativity knows no crisis, on either side of the Mediterranean. And whilst more and more Greek designers are appreciated and have won a place in the limelight in Italy as well, the passion for Made in Italy products in Greece has not stopped either.
This is a key feature that must be cultivated if it is to continue to be a business opportunity for both countries. This is an invitation that HOMI Fashion&Jewels interprets to perfection, making itself, once again, the preferred showcase for international vision - thanks to the presence of companies from the most diverse countries - and a strategic one, given other collateral trade fair appointments.
